An absolutely astounding piece of motorcycle history to share with you all! This is a wonderful mid-war 1930s Armadrake motorcycle coat. This wonderful masterpiece of British clothing was made when motorcycling in the UK was in its infancy, and the clothing still very much reminiscent of WW1 flying coats. When it was made this would have been a very very expensive jacket and has an astounding build quality. Unlike the cumbersome WW2 dispatch coats, this is made from a cotton gaberdine, with a waterproof interlining, and a wool lining that can be zipped out with a beautiful art-deco swift zipper. Everything about this piece was made to last, and last it did, with a stunning patina. This is worthy of the finest vintage clothing archives and motorcycle musuems!
Condition
Used but in solid shape. There is wear and patina throughout but only minimal damage. The knitted collar has unfortunately been half removed, and the seam holding the tail in place has popped - this is an easy fix should the next owner wish this to be done. The swift zipper works perfectly, and the lining is in great shape.
