This is it, the real fucking deal. No moody fakes with patches attached last week. A 100% genuine 1950s Barbour from a 59 Club rider.

There are many many many inaccuracies that exist and float around in the vintage market, and dating wax is one of the most common errors. The Barbour white labels were introduced in the 1950s, but were used on almost all Barbours until 1969! The vast majority of white label motorcycle jackets are from the mid-late 60s, (yellow labels are from the 1970s) and very few actually  from the 1950s. It's an absolute please to find a very rare, early example, factory dated to August 1953. It's pretty easily distinguished from its later brother with a much wider range of coloured linings, WW2 style lightning zipper and very squared off top pockets (versus rounder pockets from the 1960s).

And not only is this a rare early version, it comes complete with an original 59 Club printed canvas patch. The 59 Club was a 1960s motorcycle club in the UK that was a key part of the development of the mods & rockers culture of the early 60s. If only this jacket could talk!

Condition

Used but very very good! All zippers and studs work perfectly. The belt is a replacement (i believe) but has been with the jacket a long time! Expect all the facets of a 70 year old motorcycle jacket. It's got beautiful patina, smells like an old garage, some wearing to the cuffs, pockets and collar etc. It's exactly how a piece of wax should be! A true vintage classic and it's a shame it's a little big for me or I would never take it off! Please note, I would not wear this with your favourite pair of new white trousers!
