A truly iconic piece of British outdoor and adventure gear. Made in England by British brand Blacks of Greenock (I'll tell you a secret, my first job was working on the shop floor at Blacks!) these would have found there way around many lochs, fells and dales of England's green and pleasant hills! This is a very early early example, certainly the oldest I have ever seen. Distinctly different from the later versions, featuring WW2 style DOT zippers, no lower pockets, no gusset inside the throat zipper etc. Strangely it also has a tag in the waist that reads like a sample tag, so this could be a prototype or a very early first pattern, and made in the late 1940s to early 1950s.
Condition
Used but solid. Some fading to the shell, but no damage. I've repaired one popped seam on the cuff.
