So the story goes, after touring the entire CBI theatre in 1943, the British found they were woefully unprepared for the harsh reality of the jungle and designed the 44 pattern jungle shirt and pants. These come in a number of varieties including HBT and camo, but this is the classic olive drab UK made variation in a very tightly woven cotton. There are some really unique design features including double buttoned collar and pockets, and loops on the lower back of the shirt that hook onto the belt loops of the pants to prevent the shirt riding up and mosquitoes getting in.  I know it gets said a lot, but this is a crazy rare item.

Condition

This is deadstock, and perfect. A few small spots from storage, but otherwise fresh as the day she was made! The gasflap is still sewn in place, with a strong print on its top. The Z on the acceptance stamp indicates a 1945 manufacturing date.
