I've heard these referred to as a lot of things, pink camo, desert camo, desert smock etc. This is British anti-gas cape, and was not intentionally pink. When they were made they were impregnated with anti-gas chemicals, particularly linseed oil that would offer some protection from nefarious chemicals. When the linseed oil has been washed out, the original tan and brown camo has faded to the now iconic pink.
Condition
This is in excellent condition for one of these capes. There is one small repair to a corner of the hem, but otherwise no damage. A couple of the studs are a bit stiff but do fasten. As is standard with these, the marking on the fabric are irregular, and there is light staining throughout.
Size
- No marked size, I believe these were 'one size fits all'.
- Pit to pit 31"
- Collar to cuff 34"
- Collar to hem 46"
