An extreme rarity, and an absolute beast of the parka. This 1951 parka was developed for the Canadian army, and clearly takes heavy influence from the contemporary American m47 and m48 parkas. It's made of a solid outer nylon shell, with removable quilted liner. So many details I can't even begin to start, taped buttons throughout, contrast colour cuff straps and button plackets, the 'tail' is still in place, and amazing lined pockets. These really are rare, so I don't know too much about the history, but such a great design piece that belongs in an archive.
Condition
This is in amazing shape. There are a couple of tiny nicks to the nylon, but otherwise she's perfect!
