The classic piece of WW2 frogskin, the P44 pants. Designed as a reversible garment allowing the marine to change from the beach pattern to the jungle pattern as the environment required. Used extensively by the Marine Corps in the pacific, throughout the Korean War, and by the French in Indochina. The key design feature here is the large pocket across the buttocks designed to hold a poncho to keep one's bum dry when sitting on wet ground. Also worth noting the side pocket flaps. There are two variations of pockets, this being the earlier WW2 four button with gull shape, which in the later and more common iteration were slimmed down and made 3 buttons.
