One of my favourite styles of jewellery, and a permanent feature in my wardrobe for years, a classic Fred Harvey bracelet. Established as a Tea Room in Kansas in 1875, Harvey was quick to realised that tourists moving along the Santa Fe railway would want refreshments as their train stopped on the way to the Grand Canyon and high desert. As his business grew, Harvey would establish networks of hotels complete with giftshops selling Native American tribal souvenirs. Jewellery, along with postcards would be some of the most enduring, and this bracelet is a great example. This comes complete with many of the most iconic Harvey symbols including central thunderbird - (the sacred bearer of happiness unlimited according to Dennis June's book on the subject), an arrow, hogan (the circular motif) and others.
