I absolutely love these pieces, I've had one in my collection for a couple of years and honestly prefer it to the standard shawl. These were not an issued US Navy piece, more of a private purchase item that were used pretty widely in the Navy, I've heard of a few of these coming out of WW2 Vet estates. Not always, but often they have rank stripes on the sleeves, often one, two or three stripes, and occasionally a stencil. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe these to be Navy Cadet or ROTC ranks. Either way, a beautiful denim piece from the 1940s, and very much of naval origins.
Condition
Beautiful used condition. One repair to the neck, but otherwise amazing, with great fades throughout. Original Conmar zip works like a charm.
