The Mil-Sub of the sunglasses world, and known as the rarest Ray Bans ever made. These glasses were specially made for and issued to US service men & women staying in Antarctica with Operation Deep Freeze. Whilst at first they look like aviators, there are a number of major differences. First the double gradient density lenses, specially made for protection against sun-blindness, with a reflective coating to the top and bottom of the lense, creating a 'striped' effect in the mirroring. Secondly the plastic wrapped around the arms to stop them freezing to the face.

PLEASE NOTE: This example do come with a very slight prescription lens. I've taken them to an optometrist and been told both lenses are SPH -0.75, or good for those with mild nearsightedness . You can wear them with 20/20 vision but it takes a while for you eyes to adjust

Condition

These are clearly used, but solid condition. There are some light scratches/fade to the mirroring layer, but it does not effect the glass or viewing.
