One of the rarest denim jackets out there, and in my opinion the best. Whilst many people in vintage chase after type 1 & 2 (I've been offered loads!) this is the only cropped denim jacket I keep in my collection!
With the introduction of the battledress blouse in 1938 the British really set a new standard for military working uniforms, and many other countries would follow with similar designs over the next few year, the famous Ike jacket for example. And whilst the Canadian forces would wear the classic battledress patten throughout the war, postwar they introduced their own versions of the classic lightweight denim piece. This would be used by enlisted men as a working jacket whilst onboard ships.
This beautiful jacket feels part battledress, part Levis denim! Loads of amazing details including the chinstrap, covered button placket and pockets, double button cuffs and adjustable side straps.
Condition
This is in amazing used condition. The only issues I can find are a tiny knick in the fabric on the lower right hand side, and a button missing from the pocket. Lovely fading throughout with a nice soft blue colour.
