A really rather rare and wonderful piece of British utilitarian clothing. This style of garment were a staple of Royal Navy cold weather clothing throughout the 20th century, most commonly in the off-white rollneck style, but also as navy wideneck. This particular example - one of only 2 or 3 I've ever come across - appears to have a code dating it to 1970. Made of a heavy knitted wool, these would have been a solid thermal layer on a cold night on deck. Not only is it a rare piece, it's in a large and very wearable size. For reference, this fits very long in the body, with wide off-the-shoulder seams.
Condition
Used but excellent, the only issue I have noticed is a very light brush of paint to the arm
