Do you have the Right Stuff (in the Tom Wolfian sense)? Well this jacket does. Pace Flight Apparel operated out of LA in the 1970s & 1980s, and is well known for supplying the Test pilots for big name aircraft manufacturers of the time, Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Northrop and Grumman to name a few. This jacket is of the type made for Lockheed with a bright blue shell, and a beautiful strong orange silk lining. This is the second of these that I've had and this is the lighter weight version, similar to a USAF L-2B. What I love about these are the hand marked labels, each jacket having been handmade and individually produced for each pilot, top quality manufacturing at its finest.
Condition:
This is in great condition, with good strong colours to both the blue and the orange shells. There is some very slight soiling to the side seams and pockets, but I'm sure a good dry clean would remove all of these.
