A really rather cool piece. The design of these smocks dates back to the USARP days and I believe the 1970s (certainly every photo I've seen of them in use is from the 1970s), but this is one of only a few I've seen dated to the 80s/90s. The design is almost unique with single piece of fabric for each of the front and back including the sleeves (minimising seams), with only the patch pockets and collar added. The throat closure is amazing, surrounding the neck in warm fur and providing a tight seal to stop wind entering. It appears this replaced the earlier windproof cotton with a more modern fabric (likely goretex) and includes more robust nylon zippers, and sythetic fur. Applied to the front is an embroidered USAP logo. Rather mysteriously the tag just says "Polar Plus Pullover", but doesn't include an RN number or country of origin, so this is almost certainly a US Government contract.

These are really rather rare, I'd never seen one until I found this, and can only find examples of one other!
