Whilst the practise of making souvenir jackets started in Japan, this would soon spread around the world to other areas in which the US Army was operating. This example was made (as the back would suggest) in the late 1950s when the US 7th Army, and it's 8th Ordnance Battalion was stationed at Hanau in Germany. A beautifully constructed garment with a silk shell, direct embroidery to the back but it's the patches that are the highlight for me, especially the bullion 7th Army patch!
Condition
Excellent condition with very few signs of wear. There are two small moth nips in one cuff, some very light stain to the shell, and one area of wear to the shell on the rear left waist. Otherwise, perfect.
