These are actually a rather hard-to-find piece, a very early war parka, or to give it it's full military designation ""overcoat, parka type, alpaca lined". These were introduced in 1941 for mountain troops and soldiers serving in cold climates - the photos I've seen on them in use are predominantly in the Aleutian islands. These would only be produced for a year or so before they were pretty quickly replaced by reversible and smock style pullovers which were harder wearing. To find them in good shape these days, especially in a wearable size is a treat! Lots of cool details like the zippered hood, belted waist, four front pockets etc!
Condition
Used but excellent, some light marking on the outside but no damage. I've replaced the bottom button with a period correct original, but it's a touch darker than the other buttons.
