The classic WW2 field jacket in one of it's early forms. As a quick history, the first models of the M-1943 - the 'Spec-A' are prototypes, non of which are known the exist. The first issued patterns, the 'Spec-B' and 'Spec-C' were both incredibly short lived, the 'Spec-B' dated July 43, and the 'Spec-C' dated November 1943. The would be replaced by the 'Spec-D' in February 44, and the ubiquitous 'Spec-E' in Feb 1945. I know that's a lot to take in, but in short, this is an early example of the specification of a jacket that would have been issued before D-Day and would have been worn by the army in the ETO. The later D and E models are incredibly common, but early B and C are becoming very hard to find, especially in great shape like this one.

Condition

This has minimal signs of use, some marks from storage, but is otherwise perfect. She has one cutter tag still applied on the inside of the sleeve, and still has another 4 cutter tag staples on various panels throughout the garment.
