A classic, the classic, so classic it actually has it's own wikipedia page! The M41 field jacket was the pre-war replacement for the WW1 era service coat. Based on a civilian sports coat, it was designed for practicality, offering windproofing and some waterproofing, but also comfortable. Widely issued in the very early parts of the war, the jacket would see use across every theatre. However, whilst it was popular with soldiers, it was not to last long in service. The cotton poplin outer shells provided both inadequate waterproofing and warmth, and they were also delicate and wore down quickly. It's exactly this reason that makes this condition jacket incredibly rare. Whilst worn versions are fairly common, to see intact labels is a fleeting pleasure.

Condition

Excellent mint condition, there are some very light marks across the front, but absolutely no damage. It appears the pocket tag was removed, but the collar size tag is very strong and visible. There are some original Captain ranks insignia on the shoulder, and I believe it's named to Monfredo, so opportunity for further research.
