Stories of the First Special Service Force are nigh on legendary. This small brigade of elite troops formed from a mixture of Americans and Canadians would see only a short lifespan, from 1942 until they were disbanded in December 1944. In this very small time they would earn a fierce reputation and a nickname of The Devils Brigade. They were equipped with the same kit as the 10th Mountain Division, and many of the period photos show them wearing this reversible parka. A phenomenal outer layer, this tough cotton reverses from olive drab to bright white, and is augmented only by fur around the collar and two pockets. A super simple garment, that still looks amazing on!
Condition
Excellent mint condition. Some light discolouration and hanger marks, and some very light marks around the cuffs on the white side suggests very light use. One cutter tag on the white side.
