The classic US Navy flight jacket, the G1. This style evolved from the WW2 era M422A and would be worn through to the late 80s. This particular example is from a 1957 Cagleco Sportswear contact, and tells the story of a chopper pilot from the late 50s through to the early 60s. Unfortunately the nameplate has been removed, but the 5 patches are all beautiful, including the stunning late 50s hand-stitched Japanese made Helasron-3 patch on the chest. Personally I love the centurion patch on the back, given to pilots who made 100 landings on a particular carrier. Interestingly HS-3 were recovery specialists for many of the early space flights, so likely this pilot would have been involved.
Condition
This jacket shows honest wear. Whilst the shell and patches are in great shape, one of the cuffs has some issues, as does the fur around the collar which is balding (not cracked), and some holes in the lining. If you're looking for something to wear, this one is for you.
