Whilst its hard to date exactly, I believe this beauty of a cap would have been made in Japan in the early 60s for a pilot flying with VA-146, known as The Blue Diamonds. At the time VA-164 were flying A4 Skyhawks, and were heavily involved in some of the earliest strikes of the Vietnam War, including the response to the 'Maddox Incident'. This is a great example of a 60s Japanese made cap, with a wool outer, and cotton, contract cotton lining, and yellow seam tape.
