I always love finding experimental pieces. Typically these would have been handmade at Natick, the research facility run jointly by the Army and Navy and then tested for suitability and use. This particular piece is a Navy project, likely from the mid-late 70s, testing a typically Army pattern sweater. Unusually, this isn't the standard olive drab, but dark brown. I've actually managed to find some images of these being tested at Natick!
