I've always been a little fascinated by the USN dungarees. Whilst the two common war types, the slash pocket early war, and pocket bag late war styles are well documented, if you look through old navy photos you will see many more patterns and styles that were worn and issued both before and during the war. This is an example, a pair of pre/early-war denims, with some very distinct features. Firstly is the absent side seam, or a wrap-leg as it's known, secondly the five pockets with the inclusion of the coin pocket on the front, and finally the double pin stud & donut buttons, a style of button not commonly seen after the early 40s. I've uploaded a couple of pictures of this style in use from 1941 & 42.
Condition
Used but solid. There are a few period repairs, notably a repair to the right leg near the inner seam, and I've darned a hole in the left thigh. They're very wearable with some great character!
