Whilst the shawl collar has become an enduring piece of WW1 military clothing, the pattern is actually much older, dating back to WW1 and initially designed as a replacement for the pullover jumper. There are a number of key details that are substantially different from the later versions, notably length, sleeves, pockets, buttons and button holes. This is a super super rare piece of denim.
Condition
Really nice condition with good strong blue to the denim. Some marking and light corrosion to the buttons. One button is a later bakelite replacement.
