Is it a gunner's smock, is it an anti-gas parka? There are so many rumours and half truths around about these garments, and whilstI don't have any definitive answers I believe these were anti-gas parkas, impregnated with protective chemicals and designed to fit over a gasmask - the ties around the neck are purportedly there is secure the gasmask. Either way, these are much in demand in any condition, let along like this, in a very clean stated.
Condition
This is very good and clean, the original drawstrings and neck ties are all present and correct, as is the small lines stitched into the front pockets that I believe showed the size (2 lines being medium). This is great condition for one of these, but it's not 100% perfect. There are still some small and faint marks around the cuffs and some tiny spots on the back. There is one tiny (5mm) knick on the back of the left arm.
