So the story goes (and I could be wrong here), these hbt shirts were made in very limited numbers for Navy personal serving in combat, Seabee Engineers or Medical Corpmen etc. Whilst very similar to their army counterparts, these feature a pocket that sits much lower, almost over the belly which was to ensure balance wasn't too high whilst in water. Plus is has the classic USN wreath donut buttons, and a pleated back.
Most unusually for these rare pieces, this is a cotton poplin variation, even harder to find than their HBT brothers.
This cotton is in solid condition, there are a couple of storage marks near the neck, and a couple of tiny knicks, and a repair under the arm.
