So the story goes, these hbt shirts were made in very limited numbers for Navy personal serving in combat, Seabee Engineers or Medical Corpmen etc. Officially titled "Herringbone Twill Jacket (Army Type PQD 45B)", and very similar to their army counterparts, these feature a pocket that sits much lower, almost over the belly, this example features sewn buttons, and a pleated back. It was also missing the gasflap that is commonly removed on army examples. This example is beautifully named and stencilled to the back, with possibility for research. This example has a contract number, NXss 27794 that dates it to May 1943, manufactured by Knapp MFG in Milton PA

Condition

Used but good condition, there is a stain to the back of the collar, which could be removed, but otherwise she's great.
