One of the more idiosyncratic and little known about pieces of US Navy clothing, this piece was made by the famous Wilson Sporting Goods Co, and is one of very very few issued WW2 clothing pieces that retains the company's logo - I can only think of one other, that other being an Eddie Bauer B-9 Parka. These are actually a pretty hard piece to find, and little is known about their use. My research suggests these were issued to aviation officer cadets, the photo of them in use shows aviation cadets wearing them whilst on survival training.
