One of the most in-demand vintage items, and one of the hardest to find. These awesome hats were issued as part of the C1 survival vest kit toward the end of the war, and this pattern would go on to be used into the 90s. The theory was they could be worn green side out when a pilot had been shot down in enemy territory, and when a rescue chopper approached it could be switched to orange to increase visibility and make it easier for the rescue team to spot!
Condition
This is in amazing condition, and looks barely used. Both sides show really strong colour, and there are only a few light marks around the headband of the orange side. I strongly suspect these would come out with a good dry clean. The printed contract number is still visible.
Size
This is adjustable, but would top out around a 7 1/4 making it a medium size.
