The ultimate winter garment, solid as a rock and warm as hell. The D2 Mechanic Parka was introduced in 1944 as a replacement for the sheepskin D1 jacket, but must have only seen very limited use as images of men wearing it are as rare as the jackets themselves. A two piece construction with an alpaca inner and a double layered cotton outer shell provides extreme warmth and comfort. The very few photos that I've seen show these were used in the frosty Korean winters, and by USAF Mountain Rescue teams.
Condition
This is in used but good condition. There is a little wear to the cuffs and a couple of very small (1/2") knicks, but otherwise solid. When I got this, the throat of the liner had been cut, but I've popped a period correct Talon zipper on there to prevent any further damage.
