The N-3 series parka was first developed alongside the L-2 and B-15 in the immediate postwar years. Initially delivered in olive green and then air force blue, finally the iconic N-3B iteration in the classic sage green was introduced in the mid 1950s. This is a mint example of the second sage green pattern. It's lost the oxygen tab of the first pattern, but retains real wolverine fur for the ruff, a meatball on the left shoulder and the all important black tag. Dated 1960 and manufactuer by Skyline Clothing Corp.
These were really built for extremes, many of the early Operation Deep Freeze and USARP photos show guys wearing N-3B parkas, and I've owned them with Antarctic patches. A very heavy coat, designed for the coldest of climates!
Condition
Beautiful mint condition. Some very light marks, but otherwise perfect.
