Definitely one of, if not the, most idiosyncratic piece of military clothing. Used in the early part of the 1950s, these would have been given to groundcrew to help them guide and marshal aircraft around an airbase. Made of highly visible orange and black patterned nylon, these would have been distinct at some distance, and I even have photos of these being used by USAF mountain rescue for their high vis characteristics.
Condition
This is in used but great shape. There are a few repairs to popped seams which I've done to replace poor old repairs, and a few marks to the back, but otherwise a very nice clean example
