My love for mitchell is well known, so it was a great treat to find this very rare variation. The cottage industry that sprang up around military bases in Okinawa saw the popularity of the 'shelter shirt' mitchells, and started to print their own versions, often with different patterns of camo and unique colours. This example features the okinawa vine leaf with a bolder colour and larger repeat than the shelter halves, and on the inside features a local version of beach frogskin, again with a larger repear and a brown/ochre tone. Needless to say, a very rare piece!
Condition
This is unused and deadstock, however there is some staining/fading from storage. I haven't cleaned it, I will leave whether to do that for a new owner to decided!
