What a stunning piece! I bought this from a good friend a few months back to keep, but alas you keep keep them all. This is an absolute beauty, a wonderfully worn in P41, but the highlight is clearly the corsair artwork on the reverse. I've done a bit of homework on the plane, and based on the pylon on the nose, this is an F4U-1D or earlier. This is a classic WW2 variant, retired by Korea, so I would strongly date this to WW2. The artwork itself is worn, but you can still see remnants of very heavy gloss paint, and I would also suggest that this was done using aircraft paint of the type stored by mechanics. A super cool piece that belongs in a great collection!
Condition
Well worn and used, two buttons missing, paint marks and stains throughout. It's solid, but I can recommend this as a wearer!
