One of the less well known patterns of tiger, Thai, was as the name suggests, made and printed in Thailand for US servicemen stationed there. Very similar in pattern to 'tadpole' (by RJD's classification), but will a very different colour, often hueing into yellows, oranges and in this case brown.
The USAF had a pretty heavy presence in Thailand, extending through to 1975 and the end of hostilities in the region. A lot of the Thai pattern garments were custom made for Air Force and this looks to be no exception. The set features a wonderful four pocket jungle jacket, complete with a lovely sleeve pocket. The trousers are one of the best pairs I've ever seen, beautifully tailored with slanted front pockets, butt pockets and cargo pockets, all with button flaps. The main pockets are fully lined and the fly zipper is a late 1960s Venus.
Condition
Excellent, appears to have only been lightly worn. The trousers are deadstock, and the only issue I can see with the jacket are two tiny knicks to the right shoulder as pictured.
