A beautiful example of a 1930s/40s West Point shawl worn by cadets whilst studying at the military academy. This example, made by Highland Sportswear is (I believe) dated 1942, though the final digit on the tag is very hard to read. I've included a couple of Life Magazine images from 1936 showing these in use!
Condition
Used but very nice. There are two areas that have previously been repaired, one on the left sleeve, and one on the right shoulder, but otherwise it's in great wearable shape, and a very good size.
Size
- No size on the tag
- Pit to pit 19" with plenty of stretch
- Fits like a medium - it comfortably fits my 40" chest
- Shoulder to shoulder 19"
- Shoulder to cuff 23"
- Collar to hem 28"
