I've had one of these sitting in my collection for some time, and it's a real pleasure to finally have caught another one. Whilst these are labelled 1963 pattern, they were actually made much later than that, on two contracts, both by James Smith & Co, and I believe the first contract in 1974, and the second in 1975. Made from what was then the fairly new DPM, these would only be issued to elite units, the SAS and Royal Marines to replace the older olive green and 63 windproof camo versions. They're constructed from a much heavier cotton than the earlier versions, in a slightly updated pattern including the factory applied zipper. Significantly rare that their older cousins, these come to the market once in a blue moon!
Condition
Used by excellent. I've repaired a few popped seams on the elbow reinforcements, and she's now in perfect shape.
