British Army Denim Windproof Smock - Excellent Condition

The complete failure of the Norway expedition in 1940 highlighted that the British were woefully unprepared to fight in snowy and mountainous conditions. Based on this experience, the Army trained the Scottish 52nd (Lowland) Division as a mountain warfare unit, and began to equip it for this environment. Part of the equipment introduced was a rugged two part denim suit with a pullover smock and drawstring over trouser. These patterns would prove to be so well liked that they would go on to be used for the next 35 years! Many of you will already know the smock, produced in multiple colours and camouflage patterns, but the original version was denim, and my god are these hard to get hold of. 

Made of thick, hardwearing green denim, these pieces were built for combat in extreme environments. As ever with these suits, they're designed as over garments, and are produced in a generous cut.

Condition

This smock is in excellent condition. The paper tag is partially intact, and whilst there may be some light yellowing and marking, there is no damage or condition issues.
