Founded in Detroit in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt, long before being today's fashion giant, it was a classic American workwear brand. Throughtout the early and mid 20th century, the brand would provide it's blue collar worker audience with the denim and duck canvas clothing needed for work in factories, railroads and fields. Now incredibly popular with the vintage denim market, the brand and it's railcar tag are amongst the most sought-after vintage pieces.
This jackets is a wonderful example from the 1950s. The Canvas has faded with a beautiful of a patina varying between cream, pink and brown! All the original buttons are present and correct, along with the all important chest tag. There is a Union tag on the inside pocket. A beauty of a jacket.
Condition
Used but very good. Some light staining from the rivets and one 1" hole on the lower back.
