One of the hardest to find vintage pieces, and I've only ever come across another 1 or 2, the late 40s/early 50s USAF D2 Air Crew Cap. It appears that these were made alongside the L-2 jacket, and when the USAF switched to the blue uniform colour, these were not continued. The very short production run make this amongst the most elusive of the early US Air Force items. Made from heavier nylon than the jackets, but a liner that matches the L-2, this has a USAF meatball on the brim, and a lovely black tag on the inside.
Condition
Great condition, a beautiful fade to the nylon which has gone an amazing brown/amber mix. Some marks, but no holes etc. Very wearable!
