In the early part of the 20th Century, James Dixon and Sons were the Cadillac of silverwares. The Sheffield based company produced not only under their own label, but sold globally - they made all the flasks and silverware for Abercrombie & Fitch in it's heyday. When it was made and engraved, this would have been a fine gift. This example belonged to an RAF ww2 crewman, I've done a little research on him, but there is more that could be done,.
Condition.
Good used condition. Some light scratching, dings, and patina to the plated pewter, but otherwise good and very useable.
