A another super cool, rare and very unusual military time piece. Between 1967 and 1970 Ben Baker of the CISO (Counter Insurgency Support Office) ordered three different calibres of field watch directly from Seiko for issue to MACV SOG members. This is a rare example of the third of these calibres, the 7005-8030. This would have been made in Japan around 1970 and issued for field use in Vietnam. These are easily distinguished from regular seiko with arabic numerals on the dials, these also carry the calibre numbers on the dial (either side of the 6) and on the caseback. Comes with an automatic 7005A movement.
Condition
Solid used condition. There is some wear to the dial, particularly the second marks between 1 and 6 and a scratch near the 4. The movement has recently been service and is keeping great time - +/- 30s p/d on a timegraph. I've worn it for 24 hours and it was great, plus kept time overnight easily. Comes on a NOS US Army strap and with a spare Seiko metal link strap.
