A British vintage classic, and all-round wonderful jacket. Developed in the late 60s to replace the draughty 1951 pattern parka, the Mk3 jacket would come with a matching pair of trousers (see separate listing), and were specifically designed for the Vulcan, Lightning and other jets of the age. Made of a windproof cotton gaberdine outer layer, mesh insulation and a ventile lining layer, these jackets are surprisingly warm and very light. So many details on these from the newey zips, to the hidden hood, tape buttons and intact 'fork' that fits under the crotch to stop the jacket riding up whilst in flight.

This is a very rare example of the early grey/blue colour, issued between 1965 and 1969. These have become incredibly hard to find, driven not only by their small numbers, but also their appearance as the crew jackets in the 1979 sci-fi classic Alien!

Condition

This is in used but solid condition, there is a little fading to the grey, but no damage. There is a small white paint spot on the inside of the zipper placket at the hem, but this isn't visible when wearing. All zippers/buttons/velco/hoods etc present and correct!
