RAF 1976 6BB "Lost Navigator" by Precista

Sale price$1,400.00

One of the rarest RAF watches out there. Very similar (seemingly made to the same spec) as the contemporary Hamilton and CWC W10, this were until recently something of a mystery. This calibre was both much smaller in number - only 2000 were ordered on a single contract - but also completely sterile. Thanks to some great work from my friends over at Waecce Watches, it was recently discovered to be made by Precista, a brand owned by Southern Watch & Clock Supplies Ltd, that supplied divers, chronographs and field watches to the British military during the 70s and 80s. This example is in wonderful shape, and is a very low serial number, 30 of 2000, the lowest number I can find!

Condition

Excellent used condition. Dials, hands, etc are excellent bar a very thin area of wear to the very edge around the 6 marker - its almost impossible to see/photograph. Some light scratching and wear to the case and crystal. The movement is keeping great time, it's literally to the second over 6 hours with a power reserve of approx 20 hours.

Size

  • 35mm side to side (excluding crown)
  • 41mm lug to lug
