What a beautiful piece, and maybe my first foray into very collectible denim workwear. Now first off, is this a US Navy piece? My inclination is to say no, despite the anchor buttons, this strikes me as a piece made for sailors rather than an issued garment. But it is made by a rather rare manufacturer, The Boss. Famous for it's twin elephant logo, The Boss was a brand made in Los Angeles for Cohn Goldwater. Whilst this name my not be familiar to you, it's actually a rather influential company, having been one of the first to start to manufacture garments in LA, a city now well known for manufacturing. This brand has maybe one of the greatest labels in workwear, to my mind, somwhat reminiscent of Stronghold, who would be The Boss's main competitor in the early 20th century. Onto the label you can make out a number of Western Costume Company logos, so this was obviously part of their extensive wardrobe collection. This is a beautiful and very collectible piece of early 1920s/30s denim.

Condition

Excellent, good strong colour to the denim, and no major damage. Some light fading to the shoulders and collar, I suspect from it's time on a rack at WCC.
