A beautiful, and rather rare timepiece! The US military typically only uses domestically manufacturer items, and it's rather unusual to find a Swiss made watch that would have been issued. These were bought and used by the Navy, specifically the Bureau of Ships (BuShips) and most likely would have been worn by senior officers, Captains, Navigators etc. This example is fully original, the 10L movement, serial number 6791271 dates it to 1944. It's got the wonderful blue hands associated with Longines in the 1940s, and a great patina to the dial.

Condition

Used but great. Recently serviced by my watchmaker (a specialist in vintage watches). It's keeping great time - +/-30 on a timegraph. Some wear and patina to the case and dial. Comes with a deadstock 1945 US military strap.

Please be mindful, this is a 80 year old watch and should be treated accordingly! It's unlikely to be waterproof, and I wouldn't wear it to do any strenuous activity or sports etc!
