A beautiful example of the US Navy's earliest denim jumper. These were adopted into use around 1901, and were certainly a core part of an enlisted man's kit by 1913 when they're covered in the Navy's uniform regulations. Around 1918 the Navy would start to replace these with the now common shawl collar that would be worn until the 1950s. There are loads of great period photos of these being worn through the period before and during WW1!
Condition
Used but great, a few popped seams here are there and button missing from one cuff. There is a very small split in the very botton of the throat closure, but otherwise she's a real beauty!
