US Navy WW2 Deck Shoes

Another piece that you don't see everyday, especially in as good shape as these! These very light sneakers were issued to USN sailors during the war for use on wooden deck ships. Made by Universal Rubber Co and dated September 1944. These became the basis for the Ivy style sneaker, and you can still find similar style shoes being worn by more refined sailors, particularly with the Sperry Topsider. 

Condition

Great shape, the rubber is still pliable, no damage to the canvas. Please be aware, this is still 80+ year old rubber, they are delicate, and I would not recommend them for wearing.
