 If you're read Masters of the Air by Donald Miller, one thing that stands out more than anything is how unprepared the USAAF was for war in the skies over Europe in 1942-43. The early shearling and leather flight suits were bulky and utterly inadequate for the task, and so the Air Force in late 1942 set about redesigning their cold weather clothing. Seeing the popularity of the Geddes Parka, and the excellent insulation provided by down, the USAAF introduced the B-9 in July 1943. Whilst popular with crews, these would have only a smaller (comparatively) run of 50,000 pieces as securing enough down became complicated with the need to use in in sleeping bags. Production would be discontinued in early 1944.

Excellent used condition. The zip has been replaced with a WW2 Talon. Some light marking but light marking.
