Designed and first introduced in the mid-1960s, the CWU-7/P was part of the USAF's Cold Weather Uniform (CWU) system to replace the outdated 1950s designed jackets. This particular piece was issued to groundcrew and mechanics and in Europe were often patched as per this great example!
